Default Help in Buying 1st CSL

Hello

I am intersted in buying my first CSL - I currently own an E92 DCT - and I need your informed help.

I have seen several CSL's and my focus is now on this one:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3620523.htm

I inspected the car and talked to the current owner who seems a specialist in BMW M cars. I am very impressed by the car.
My only concern is the real road useability of a modified CSL (KW suspension kit, Alcon Cup brake kit and Milltek exhausts) and, more importantly, the residual value the day I want to sell it.

Do you think the above mods will decrease the value of the car vs a fully original one?
Do you think this would be a good choice is i want to use it as week end car + 3-4 track days a year? or should I look more at an original one?

Also, do you have any additional information (previous owners, track days etc..)you want to share about this car (Reg M60 CSL)?

any help would be highly appreciated

many thanks for your attention

for this reason alone it sounds like the car for you-

"Do you think this would be a good choice is i want to use it as week end car + 3-4 track days a year? or should I look more at an original one?
"

if you bought a standard car it would only end up like this 12 months down the line. as for re sale its better than money in the bank and you won't loose much if anything during your ownership.

Mine was standard when I brought it last year, now has AP brakes and KW suspension, next on the list exhaust looks a nice car and work done for you.

sorry don't know the car.

Did you not go for a spin in the car? even as a passenger you would get a feel for the suspension set up.
Brakes a good modification and is the first thing to do on a csl. Some say AP is better suited for the CSL than Alcon, I have no idea but the Alcon does look good on paper.
Exhaust, I would have OEM over milltek but again that's personnel choice.
If everything stack up elsewhere on the car then it looks a nice thing.
Its always worth calling the £1 a minute (it may be £1 a call) BMW line to get a full list of when and where its been to check history.

Spot on - mine now has AP Racing brakes, KW suspension and a milltek exhaust. All of which only improve the car if you ask me. That said, I have kept the standard parts to give a future buyer the option to buy a completely stock car.

If you are a purist and want a bone stock car, you will be luck to find one that has been bone stock all its life (mine hadn't).

The one you're looking at looks great.

Ignore all the bollocks about which colour...

What?...

It's black?

Nothing like as quick then.

Thanks for you insightful comments.
I will test the car on Saturday and I will let you know my impression.
I am quite excited to buy this car!

no mention of service history in the ad. make sure its all upto date with no massive gaps between stamps. and the running in service should be around 1500 miles.

good luck
