BMW Warranty
Hi me again....
Anyone on here know what the precise differences are between buying: private one which has ran out of BMW Warranty (and i buy a BMW Warranty on it the COMPREHENSIVE one http://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Pages/Home.aspx) vs BMW Approved Used Car Warranty? What are the precise conditions for me to purchase a BMW Warranty on a private one if the previous one has ran out? e.g. I know about the 1200 mile service but what else. What are the tolerences for the 1200 mile service? I presume this is a good bargaining tool. Thanks very much. |

I gather (but not definite) that you have to have had kept up the approved service schedule, as the only condition to re-engaging BMW warranty on your car. I thought this was BMw main uk dealer service only but not 100% sure of this is correct.
Approved service schedule is maximum 2 yrs between services or as advised by OBD, and running in service max is around 1700miles we were advised by BMw. I believe the Mondial warranty is same for 3rd year of BMW warranty, used car warranty or private BMW Mondial warranty.

As Shimmy has said really.
Only other consideration is whether the car is below / above 60k mile threshold. Level of cover changes again. |

at 60k miles the price nearly double, both monthly and annually - UNLESS you have taken out monthly before 60k miles and then the price stays at lower rate while you maintain that warranty

My old car had a service outside the network before I added the warranty. I informed them when buying warranty. It was no issue. I subsequently had a few warranty claims honoured, as has the new owner.
The speel, just says it has to have full service history, not full ~BMW service history. On one warranty claim they photocopied my service book too, as BMW asked for a copy. |
