Spa, just brilliant!
Back from my first track day at Spa. Totally awesome!! One sg csl there, dunno who??
Weather a little hot, in excess of forty degrees C, meant I kept it down to regular sessions of five laps at a time. Most people seemed to be doing this - oil temperature was my problem, but undoubtedly down to the weather. I couldn't get away from a dab of brake at eau rouge, entering at 105mph. Maybe next time... My new favourite!!! |

I'm glad you did it, cracking place. And entry speed at ER isn't the prob, it's exit speed that matters.

Water temp dead in the middle. I've never seen it go any higher.
Oil temp going above the three quarters dot (125 degrees), and I tend to back off when it gets there. Everywhere else I've been it's ten or twelve laps before it reaches the dot, but five in the heat and it had gone above. It's probably ok to run it there, but what's the point in taking the risk? Couple of chaps with GT2 911's were doing exactly the same thing. Exit speed at ER? My mind was elsewhere at that point... I'm still buzzing! |

I'm not an expert but I'd say 135mph in a CSL, but I'd doubt you would exit the corner without going to hospital

Best circuit in the world for me. Sounds like you had a great time
We went in March and had good weather, going back in October. Brands Indy seemed very boring after!

from memory (all GPS speeds) typically 130mph top speed down old start finish straight, brake to 95mph then back on the gas (as soon as your arse stops twitching) I think my fastest minimum speed is about 100mph but not necessarily the fastest way to get up Kemmel as the most important thing is getting on the power early but as positively as you can as you climb up the other side - unless of course out take the Lawsy line!

Hi,
I prefer Spa to the Ring. As regards speed out of ER its how well you position the car going in, which is not quite as critical now as it was few year ago, given you have now have a Supermarket car park for the run off. Not been for some time, but hopefully end of this year if all things level out. Regards, The Gorilla. |

Only running PS2's at the moment which were going off after about 4-5 laps but by that time the Temps were up and I was needing a break anyway. For a car in standard form apart from pad/fluid & flexi upgrade it was epic, I went with a load of the Noble boys and they were all very surprised with the pace of the car. I slowly increased the speed through eau rouge starting at 95 ish and eventually getting in at a wisker under 120 but she was moving around quite well by this time. As said already though I was losing speed during the corner and my fastest exit was about 110. It was a great way to explore the Csl for the first time and I hope to return next year to pay homage again. Love the place. Matty. |

Your car looked well. I would normally have said hello, but I was a bit of a sweaty, smelly mess by the time I spotted you.
