Default My crashed CSL

Thanks to some idiot pulling out to overtake a lorry and hitting me head on, I now have one bent CSL.
I have been offered a settlement by the insurers but it falls way short of the value (fleet policies).
They have offered me a buy back, and I hope to sell to recoup some losses.
Here are some before and after shots dont look if you get queasy!

Crikey! A sad sight indeed. Glad you came out of it unscathed though. A head on must have been pretty scary!

Good luck with the sale.

Glad your ok

Ouch Paul! There is nothing sicker than a lovely car like that ruined. The same kind of thing happened to me in my old E30 M3 Sport Evolution a few years ago and I felt very sorry for myself. This time it was a driver pulling out literally STRAIGHT in front of me when I was doing around 45mph. I T-boned his VW Passat and my car was a very sad mess.

I bullied the insurers into repairing the car at a cost of just under 9 grand, which I thought was a bit of a triumph as they had tried to write it off initially for £4,175! Either way I drove it for a further 4 years till I sold it to make way for my SG CSL in 2009.

I am not sure I'd move heaven and earth to get yours repaired though, even if you have the chance. The CSL is so much more sharp in its geometry I would guess it could drive like a complete dog if it wasn't sopt on.

I would argue as strongly as you can for a relevant settlement figure, making use of a bunch of adverts for similar condition and mileage cars and then buy the wreck back and break it yourself. As the others say, if you are prepared to take the time, you'll get the most back from it that way. It might also mean that you can still get back into a comparable CSL with your settlement figure and transfer some fo the bits from the wreck to the 'new' car if it is less than perfect - eg car with a tatty interior would be cheaper to buy but you can rectify that far more cheaply than anyone else as you wouldn'd have to buy new seats/trims etc to sort it.

Either way it is a crap way to start the new year and I'm truly sorry for you. Mine was just before Christmas and I was just starting my own business at the time - these things never happen at the right time but the main thing is you survived and are in one piece.

Best wishes and best of luck

If it was not your fault then your insurance will be claiming off his, so you should get a decent price
Tell your insurance to fuck off
