Berlin?

I need some help deciding where to stay and where to go out in Berlin this week?

Never been there before and want to make the most of my two nights there so advice please on an area to stay and where to eat drink at nightime.

Id prefer not to be in the 'Piccadilly' version of London in Berlin but more a bit alternative and funky!

Ive read a bit about it all and they say East berlin is the new cultural centre

Thursday night and Friday night and then home Saturday morning

My recommendation is.... Hotel Ku'damm 101 http://www.kudamm101.com/ in Kurfürstendamm on the West side... http://en.wikipediaorg/wiki/Kurfürstendamm with a really nice restaurant http://www.eiffel-berlin.de/den/Rest...estaurant/Team literally around the corner
I've stayed there a few times, it's a very Funky-Kool hotel, in a good area for night life, with lots of good restaurants and Bars + East Berlin's Mitte area is just a taxi ride away
Wrap up warm as that -21 deg C will feel like - 40 with the added wind chill.

im due to go out Thursday - luckily temps are looking ok

max daytime temp is -15 deg and min nightime is -26 deg
