Hi mate, welcome to the forum, your making the right choice!

Mine has become a bit of an all rounder now, sometimes gets used for work but still does trackdays and fast road use, you can't use it on very short trips though, I was only doing 2 miles to work and 2 miles back everyday and the car hated it, it was killing it so it needs a good run and to stretch its legs!

They will take pretty much anything you throw at them though!

Welcome

Mine is solely a weekend/Ring/track toy but i still manage to cover 10k miles per year.

I used it as an everyday car for the first year that i had it and i must say the CSL copes admirably in such a role

What makes the CSL different to an M3 for short trips mate? i drive my M3 at most 1 mile to work and back and never had any problems.

I think that you have missed the point. The CSL much like any other car should be warmed up properly before giving it a blast and it therefore performing to its optimum without unneccessary damage or wear. Driving any car for only a mile does it no favours esp. when it is a CSL. Each to their own.

I have owned my car for three years and only covered 4-5,000 miles so mine is definately a bit of a garage queen. Although it is used for shopping trips et cetera (no short journies) and of course track days but again only the Neurburgring so far (and next weekend!).

Lastly AlexGTT what is "Bird's knickors"? I know what the colloquialism is but surely you mean 'knickers' or am I missing something?

I dont think that is what Dan was getting at Pip, i remmember it being something to do with bore wash/ cross contamination of fuel and oil.
