Ring / Spa set up
With the trip coming ever closer I have 1 main question and 1 quick questions.
Quick one - Does Spa have a noise level limit ? I'm thinking of putting my de cats on which I didn't think were noisy but I'm told they do increase the db, long way to go to get KB'd Main one - I have adjustable suspension set at OEM ride height and set to -1.5 camber Would it be worth lowering ? I also have adjustable top mounts which can be set to -3.0 but I have been told that's bollocks unless you set the car up each and every time with 4 wheel laser alignment. Would I feel any benefit from either of the above bearing in mind I wont be no speed king, quick yes but I want to get home unlike the car in Mark's post. |

From the MLR website: 107db limit.
Spa generally has higer noise limits than most UK tracks due to the fact it is in a rural location, also MLR organised TDs tend to be higher too due to most tuned Evos being noisy! Suspension wise, you might want to lower it a tad and certainly run stiffer than equivalent OEM. Regarding camber, i run more -2.5deg as standard but don't drive my car so much on road these days. I did Spa last year on OEM suspension and the car was rolling quite badly in the slower corners like 'La Source' hairpin and 'Rivage'.

mine is not very low (643mm) due to road compliance but i will be running -3 camber and about 10-12f and 13-15 rear clicks on the intrax (about half way between road setting and the max)
as for your adjustable top mounts they are talking pants get it set up with -1.5 or -2 for raod use and change to up to -3 for track use and all they have to do is compromise the toe slightly to get decent set up for both

Thanks for the info Rob, Shimmy
Shimmy, AST set the car up so I can change it to -3, it was a guy I know who races and he says you cant just go from one setting to another without doing the full telemetry ? I know guys on here and have seen Rob change his camber set up to see it can be changed. This guy just said it wouldnt be right without doing the lot, but he also mentioned weights as well every time he changes his setting from track to track. From whats been said Im sure I will change mine over there with a bit of help from the pro's |
