Default Help with interior trim removal ?

I need to take off the trim on the B pillar (at least I think it is called that) so I can get to the seat belt bolt at high level just above drivers shoulder

anybody know where I need to start as it looks like I need to take off other trims first!!!

Tried the door seal first but it still seems to be stuck firm.

Ha ha

no this is just to get at the seat belt bolt.

I don't plan to take out the interior side trim until I put in a cage

Default trim removal

There are 2 splayed plastic clips under the top of the rear door card below the seat belt you can just pull forward but be carefull not to drop them or you will have to take the panel out. Then just pull forward hope that helps

The B Pillar trim is held in via 2 plastic pop clips on the bottom - to get to these you have to pull back the rear 1/4 interior trim.

I personally wouldn't recommend the method of just pulling the top of the rear carbon trim back as the chance of breaking something is almost 100% and those rear trims cost as much as a kidney in CSL$ terms.

Best way to do it is to pull the rear seat bench out - straight up and pull forwards towards the front of the car (easier to remove from car if the passenger or driver seat was taken out - otherwise be very careful not to scratch anything!! chances are you will, so mask as much as you can).

Then you need to remove the rear 1/4 side bolster- to remove this you need to remove the seatbelt cover for the rear seat (easy - pop in the centre of the clip you see on top and the plastic clip should lift up and out) -Remove the plastic cover by pulling forward - now here's the tricky bit - pull the top of the trim forward really hard - you'll hear a loud pop and the top of the trim will come apart - don't worry if you break the rear plastic holding clip - this is a replaceable part (BMW 8 099 55) - THEN PULL STRAIGHT UP - there's a catch built into the back of the bolster that locks it in place - if you pull forward you'll break this - so pull straight up.

Once that is free you can pop out the rear 1/4 carbon panel - just snap in pop clips all around - work from the bottom of the panel and around it slowly to remove.
