Replaced Air Filter
Spent some time 'fiddling' with the car today in readiness for my first outing to the Ring in two weeks.
Firstly, i connected my new CTEK battery charger to the car to sort the battery out with the car having sat dormant for much of the past 4 months. I also did my annual spring clean inside the airbox and replaced my ITG air filter with a standard BMC filter. Inside it was pretty skanky with the usual sand pit forming inside Then the garage door decided to break on me when the support wires snapped

A good job worth doing every so often, esp if used as a daily. Mine was shocking when I cleaned it out last year. Dont think it had ever been done. Also had a fresh new OEM BMC fitted this week from Inspec II. (I hope, so im going go check)!

Rob, ITG vs BMC, talk to me!
I presume the ITG was letting in all that $hit or does that happen with std BMC anyway? Ta |

I was led to believe by a certain tuner that the ITG filter is better than the BMC original - i certainly never noticed any difference and of course tuners are going to claim that as they want to sell more! I'm sure it is as good as OEM - it is slightly cheaper at least. They seem to stop the majority of stuff but i always get tiny particles of grit/sand behind the panel inside the airbox. Luckily this 'sand' seems to stick itself to the oily residue that resides inside the airbox housing so doesn't appear a big problem... I will leave the BMC on for this year and see how i get on.

I removed the whole panel some time ago as mine rattled!
