Default How many of you attend track days alone?

Might be a bit of an odd question, but this year I fancy doing a few more UK days however a lot of friends don't plan in advance. I'm happy to book 'cheap' days now, and chances are I can get a mate to come along at a later date, or a few if it falls at the right time of the month, etc.

However, booking in advance I run the risk of also been lumped to do the day on my own. Which got me thinking, I know I could turn up at the track, and no doubt I'd probable be able to recognise a few cars / people. But how many people turn up to days on there own?

I'm pretty independant, but at the same time it's nice to have someone to take to!

None of my 'close' mates do track days so I'm always on my own. However, I'm there to drive and have time with the car so I don't mind the fact I don't have mates with me.

Although, when I've been with the RS owners club in the past it's nice to know there are folk there to help out IF things go pear shaped. Luckily they never have.

i think in my first year most of the trackdays i did were alone

last two years more and more have been organised with likes of PureGT or OPL, CSL Reg either mye joining in with days organised OR me shouting loudly when i have booked ne to see if i can drag a few along!

i have no probs going by myself but much miore fun now with someone you know to chase and have fun with!

Done oulton park a few times on my own, met a nice irish dude about 2 years ago, we shared a garage, got chatting too him and my good mate who makes exhausts, had custom made and fitted an exhaust to his car. Small world. Last year at oulton I rolled up into a garage, who was in it next to me, nice Irish dude. He was so nice he even gave his garage up and let Derek and Rob use it.

Most people on track days are just like ourselves , enthusiasts. There are the odd few obnoxious bastards who look down their nose at you. But most you tend to chat to and are real nice honest people. In the past Ive helped people out in a jam and rescued peoples cars, doing brake bleeds in the garage etc, changing brake pads etc. I find people accomodating if you need to lend a tool you have forgotten too

You do get the tards though that turn up with no jacks, no tools nothing. Just car, themselves and a helmet, usually borrowing from every tom dick and harry.

Yep... again, same here. One of my old friends delayed my first visit to the Ring, back in 2003 by 12 months and I never got to drive my Porsche 968 round the Green Hell . That was the last time I waited for a m8 to book anything TD related. Now I just book what I want and if they don't turn up it's their loss not mine

Same, I've got one mate who's pretty much up for most 'Ring trips or TD's within reason (understandable, he's got a fiancee I haven't) however the rest just umm and arr too much. I'm a person who goes out and does it, I don't dither about.

That's why I'm thinking book Snetterton in August, Cadwell in July and a few other dates and just nearer the time see if anyone off here is attending then just introduce myself!
