CSL Splitter difference - new vs old - photos (Now also include bumpers - oem vs rep)
Okay, rather than spamming Mark's for sale thread, I thought I'd put the photo reference up here in technical area (mods if you feel this should be elsewhere, please feel free to move it - thanks!!)
original thread discussion: http://www.cslregister.com/forum/sho...newpost&t=3160 On with the photos: Original label: New label: Original splitters (notice the taller overlap extension - the part that tucks into the bumper) New Splitter (notice the shorter overlap extension) Original Splitter bottom (2 rivet holes) New Splitter bottom (4 rivet holes) - note the 2 outer holes are in the exact same place as the original splitter. Can I ask if you could fit the new splitter securely? I destroyed a splitter, ordered a new splitter from a UK dealer (half the local price) and asked my Sydney dealer to fit it. They initially suggested I had a replica part because the shape and size were different and when fitted the overlap is insufficient so you see small gaps and the splitter is a little loose (you rphotos are helpful as my old and new part badges are identical to the ones in your photograph, including the change from 2 to 4 holes). Up shot is BMW Sydney are convinced BMW parts Europe are supplying the wrong splitters and they are trying to source the correct older style, even if they have the same part number. How did you resolve the gaps?
Many thanks. |

I have an answer, but not one you want to hear
You can't reslove the gaps I've have the crap type(new) and have tested the old type(cheers s.mac), the old type fit better, these are the ones to have. |
