Broke my Cherry!
I know I've been quiet lately, not being able to post from the ship being the main reason, the other being I've not really had a good run in the car since I got home on Monday.
Well, after nearly 10 years of 0 points motoring, I finally broke my cherry yesterday afternoon after a serious good drive from Glasgow to Stranraer on some backroads. I'd been fairly flying along, into XXX figures at some points, always keeping a good eye out for the boys in blue to show face and it was all going well. Got onto a nice straight bit of road, and was cruising really. Checked the mirror, nothing for about 500 yards, looked a couple of seconds later, car in the distance closing RAPIDLY I though, "Oh hear we go" Picked a cog, as soon as he got behind me nailed it in 3rd got to 90 (in a 60) and he was good enough to put the lights on and show me I was being naughty. I acknowledged them and the lights went off. Pulled in and the usual stuff, as I imagined it anyway. 1st thing I thought was, BOOF, there goes my licence, WHEN did they catch me? Anyway, as soon as he said we measured your average speed over 4 miles to be 82.9mph which apparently on those roads is pretty quick for a car. Funny though, I was relieved that they were doing me for 82.9 as the 3 of us knew I was doing more than that at times. They were a couple of nice guys actually and even nice enough to tell me the CSL was some car and asking me loads of questions about it. Anyway, £60 and 3 points done. Hope it's my first and last but it's just so damn easy sometimes when the roads are right, traffic's light and you've a full tank! And of course, the 'Black Eyed Peas' were blasting through the pishy stereo. Sorry, I know it's bad to have to radio on when driving hard, but hey. It'd been a long drive. Anyway, is that me in some kind of naughty boy club now? Bealo, am I welcome in Thailand now??? |

Good man! Always found Scottish police to be cool, then there is very little they can with us N.Irish boys as we’re out of their jurisdiction.
I’ll tell you a story or 2 when we catch up at the weekend... I’ll sign the book then!! Though I’d be careful what you put in print lad! |

Good effort Baz, it is a cracking bit of road in places, did they do you on the old Vascar? Its so easy with that, as they can just sit back out of the way somewhere within sight of the road, watch you pass, then set off when you are out of view and trip the Vascar, and wait until you do the rest ! Hence why your ave speed was in the eighties.

I was thinking that as I wrote it but then again, I'm done now and they've got it all on there gear so me putting it on here wouldn't really affect me. So I thought anyway.
See you at the weekend mate, |
