Standard CSL Ride Height???
Can somebody with standard suspension on their car please take 5 minutes to get the car somewhere flat and measure with a tape measure from the ground through the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch and give me some measurements front and rear in mm. Visually the cars look lower at the rear but I would like to know if they actually sit nose down. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys.
P.S Glendog I would be really interested in your measurements with the clubsports on if you can?????? Last edited by Lee13; 23-10-2009 at 12:21 AM. |

How is measuring to the arch going to tell you if it is nose down unless you already know the difference in height between the arches when the body is on the floor on it's own?
They should be raked to the front anyway, if not it would understeer like a pig? |

Good morning Nathan, I can explain later it just gives me something to work from if I have standard ride heights front & rear from floor through centre of wheel to centre of wheel arches. All my suspension is removed at the minute or I would measure my own.

I just had my geo done today on the BMW Kinematic Diagnosis System (KDS) and the print out states the factory ride height spec as follows:
Measure from the bottom of the rim to the top of the wheel arch through the centre of the wheel: Factory Spec: Front Target: 607mm+/-10mm Rear Target: 602mm+/-10mm Mine is sitting as follows: Front left 604mm front right 600mm Rear left 601mm rear left 594mm (yes I know I need to re-adjust it with corner weight). Hope that helps. Last edited by NZ_M3; 23-10-2009 at 10:39 AM. |

I wouldnt worry too much about wheel to arch heights, the bodywork is notoriously innacurate, better to measure on the chassis rail or on the shock body.
