Default Selling my SG (well thinking about it)

**Now SOLD**

A change in family circumstances (Children) means I need to think about moving on from my CSL days, sad, but the car really isn’t getting the use it deserves, I don’t even have time to get on the forum much anymore.

Ive owned the car since 2011 and loved every minute of it, it will be a sad day if let the car go. I’ve never tracked the car, shameful given the cars purpose in life!

The headlines

Silver Grey, 85,790 miles with xenons, PDC, stereo & aircon. FBMWSH, Garaged 24/7 on trickle charge. Totally standard, no mods. 5 previous owners (though the first 2 were dealers). All 3 keys, CSL wallet, Plaque – everything you would expect. Car would go back onto its original plates for any sale.

MOT until July, but obviously the car will be sold with 12 months MOT and anything required will be done.

Like many fanatical owners, I keep all the documents in a wallet in chorological order, below is a listed copy of the service history, but to pull out some of the key info as to the cars condition.

Bodywork

The car has not been re-sprayed, so it does have some stone chips in the usual areas (front end around the grille, bonnet, front and rear wheel arches) as you would expect on an 86k mile car. I had the front bumper re-sprayed and the flippers re-laquered a couple of years ago along with a full wheel refurb. The passenger side front wing also has a very small ding about the size of a 5p coin, hard to spot though.

Tyres

It’s running on Pilot Super Sports – with loads of life left in them.

Interior

To note the bad points only to be totally open

The steering wheel is ‘bobbly’ but never really bothered me so didn’t have it redone.
The back of the front seats have a few marks on them
The plastic around the drivers side rear seat about half way up has peeled in a small area, about 4mm sq I reckon
The left hand rear seat has a small tear in the base from some point in its life, it looks like a previous owner has cauterised it to prevent it from spreading, so looks like a small burn. Again you have to look to see it.

Otherwise the interior is great, I wouldn’t want anyone to think it was ‘shabby’.

Mechanical

Car is sound, totally standard and fully serviced, I got Gareth at Elms to check the subframe, he confirmed it had already been repaired by BMW and there were no issues with it (confirmed on the Elms invoice). I since found out it was done by Romford BMW in 2010 under warranty – BMW have it on their system but wouldn’t give me a copy.

On each MOT I get an advisory that one of the exhaust hangers is corroded – but as it isn’t dangerous or causing any issues I didn’t see the need to shell out for a new back box (and I don’t know any welders I trust enough).

The next service is an inspection 1 due in July 2017, the last work I had done was a new set of OEM front discs & pads.

You can see from the list below all the items changed or replaced during the cars life, including the new diff at 50k miles.

GLWS. You can rotate pictures using 'Windows Photo Viewer' you'll need to upload them again after. (If you have windows that is).

Hi,

Can I just check a couple of points please:

Condition of the wheels?
I guess you have invoices to support the detailed history you've listed (must add up to a pretty penny?)
6 owners in total including you ? is there some documentation to support the first 2 registered keepers being traders?

Thanks

Anth

Thanks for rotating the pics for me Mark!

Wheels - excellent - refurbished in May 2014 - done well under a 1000 miles since than - id go out and take a photo, but its raining...will PM you some if you like. below is one when i got them back from the paint shop - using the correct brand and colour as found on the register.

Ive got the invoices from 2007, i don't have the invoices from the early services, but the service book is stamped. The history below is a transcript - it does add up over the life of the car.

I am the 6th owner, unfortunately no, i don't have proof the first 2 keepers were traders, this is information supplied to me by the previous owner.

PM me if you would like more detail.

Jim
