Default Repainting/finishing Interior Door Handles

My drivers side door handle is quite scratched up from the previous owner. Looks like he had the keys in his hand when he shut the door every time he got in

I don't really want to pay BMW prices to get a new one, can they be refinished? And is it something I can DIY? I work away a lot and bit of a pain in the rear end to leave the car with a shop...

It should be easy. Any half decent painter should be able to match them.

There are a few threads on here about repainting the steering wheel trim that may give you a guide to matching the colour. The door handles look like they have a bit more clear coat on them though.

Alternatively I recall a member by the name of DerPenguin selling some a little while back. Here is the post.

Thanks I'll have a look around at the steering wheel surround threads. I should do that too. Little discoloured near the rim.

Hard part I guess wad taking the door panels off. I had to replace lock, so got my mechanic to take them off for me. Once off, I resprayed with some canned paint. Looks fantastic even after all these years. Same for centre console and steering wheel trim.
