CSL door sill replacements?

Hello, the metal place door sills on my csl have some corrosion under the skin.
Do you know if these are replaceable?
I will try to take a photo over the weekend, as it woudl make my point clearer.

They bubble up with water and look like the laquer is peeling off. I did try these with acid which makes them better but in the end your best off buying a new pair, something like £150 + from BMW.

Part No's are 5 147 7 895 573 (left) and 574 for the right. The cost me €81.50ea when I ordered them (yesterday!).

Fantastic! How do you plan to fit them? I would love to know as i don't want to have to pay BMW £500 for the labor!

yes thats exactly what is happening, any idea who i call at BMW or is there a good site?

You order them from your local stealer like you would order any part, you just need your Chassis Nr / V5 Cert when you call / go in, as obviously they are CSL specific.

Elms usually give a forum discount of a few per cent if you are near Cambridge, but many dealers will do this if you are a regular.

Yes, defiantly do them yourself. I haven't fitted them yet, but it looks straight forward. Will give them a go next weekend - but dozens on here have been there done that and can probably give tips re any trick hidden clips that break easily etc.

they just pop off on clips under,

get a corner up and give it a tug ant it will just pop off.

give it a clean under then clip the new ones back in place,

stick the old ones on ebay, sorted.

i sold mine the the member on here from NZ !

I left the protection plastic on top of the strips to avoid scratching when I replaced them but I think this is more prone to moisture between the protection strip and the plate

That is because he (NBTR - ?)refurbishes them I seem to remember.

Nice work!

For the benifit of the trolls out there, the bloke on cutters just removes the lacquer with paint stripper, then leaves them raw. Not too bad an idea as sanding will destroy the brushed finish. I wonder if the Alu is pitted underneath, or if its in good enough cond re-cover them afterwards, either in venture sheild or clear coat? Might give this a go.
