Niggles - advice please
Just got Cesil out of storage and took him straight on a run to DN10. On track, although I took it steady, he was epic. Reminded me of why I sold the GTR instead of him. Great to meet some people from here too.
Anyway, as to be expected, there are a couple of niggles after a year of being locked up and some things to get sorted. Any advice welcome. - Left rear handbrake: I think it's sticking and ended up tripping out the DSC, so I was forced to drive the Ring with no DSC and the two warning lights lit up - Steering wheel: Needs a retrim. Send it to Royals, correct? - Kickplates: Basically need replacing. I don't think they can be refurbed. Looks like I'll have to order some new ones. - Rear seat plastic: Both the plastic centre console and the rear seat back have lost some of the plastic covering and look scruffy. BMW will charge me a fortune for new ones. I know some people on here have refurbed theirs. Any recommendations please? - Windscreen: Currently has two chips. I need to replace it, but am concerned about replacing with a cheapo version. I doubt that my insurers will cover an original replacement part? - Flippers: Looking tired and need relacquering. Simpsons? Any advice welcome. Also, here's a lap of me at the Ring, with my mate Dan following and (not unfairly) slagging off my driving. |

Try BMW and Bmminiparts for a Windscreen, seriously.
I bought one for my Z3M recently and I think it was only £170 direct from Germany. Toby was a bit concerned about sending it on to Northern Ireland but it was VERY well packaged and arrived in perfect condition with all the correct BMW markings and of course the sunstrip along the top. Even if they just supply it, a windscreen guy will take maybe £60-£100 to fit it for you at the house. Flippers to MarkCSL for refurbing, top work. |

I cannot help with most of your queries but your You Tube link does not seem to want to play.
I am hoping the re rubberisation of the seat backs and console is an easy fix though as I have a couple of marks on mine. Pip |

Simpsons have refurbished some damaged splitters for me in the past and did a very good job of salvaging them
I have recently had my steering wheel re-trimmed by Jack at Royal Steering Wheels - good quality job and service

Thanks guys, all great advice as always. Now I've got Cesil back on my drive instead of locked away somewhere, I'm a much happier man, but I also feel compelled to sweeten her up and get her tip-top.

a new centre console is affordable, but the seat backs are just crazy money (which is a shame as it would be a nice fix to replace them) there must be someone somewhere who can do a rubberised coating repair. I'd pay good money for it too. |

I wonder how close black Plastidip is to the OEM finish, has anyone tried?
