Default The tuning chestnut (again)

Following the recent 'ring trip, I was amazed at how well the car went on the corners (grip was beyond belief) and it was more than a match for the Porsches around the bends.

However, it was REALLY frustrating to catch the better driven cars (i.e. the ones that knew the circuit), only to have them pull away on the straights and have to do it all over again.

I am thinking of the Evolve remap (mainly to stop the EMS light coming on under light cruising due to the Supersprint race cats) and also to get rid of the low speed jerkiness and if there are any power gains to be had, then all well and good.

I note that quite a few people have looked into the Schrick cams in the past (going by the search feature), but there seems to be very little definitive information available (just anecdotal, which I'm not really interested in ). So my question is who has the following fitted to their car:

Schrick high lift cams.
Supersprint system (headers back).
Evolve remap.

Do you have before and after figures (I understand that there is a slight loss below 2500, but above that it is alleged to have gains everywhere), I want to see what the real figures give?

If anyone has before and after figures in stages, that would be even better .

Before anyone says I should learn to drive betterer , the car has an easy sub 8 min BTG time in it, even with me driving (it did a 8.20 from the car park with several hold ups). It's just on the really fast sections where the Porsches have sufficient legs that even despite the CSL having better corner speed, they can out-drag you.

I know - buy a Porsche - but I like the CSL though .

Better off getting some weight out of the car IMO.

Also what suspension are you on? and what diff? Better corner exit means more speed on the straights. Drexler made such a massive difference on my car, really is amazing mod, maybe with a 3.9 final drive?

Sure some people on here have had Evolve remaps and are happy, I've heard some comical stories about them though and wouldn't touch them with yours.

Not forgotten those coil packs - you far from Snet? Up there next week.

It's on H&R coilovers that seem to give a perfect compromise between ride and handling.

I don't want to turn it into an out and out track car, so don't want to strip it or reduce the gearing and I don't have an issue with the cornering speed, it is just the grunt on the straights that the car lacks. You can make up ground on the Pesky Porsches through the bends, only to be forced to stay behind them on the straights (as the extra power the Porsches have, prevents any overtaking unless you catch them napping or they give a lift to let you by).

Tell me about the diff (costs / lock-up / NVH etc) ?

Again I'm after some first hand experiences, not hearsay .

I'm in Norwich, so not too far away, it depends if I can get away .

I got mine second hand and had it opened and inspected by Simpsons, not sure on the details other than it is a proper plate diff and gives so much more traction it is incredible and when it lets go it is miles more predictable and controllable, it seriously is a great modification.

Guess technical details and price will be on their website.

NVH again dunno really, mine is solidly mounted to a solidly mounted subframe and the final drive whines like fook. Not noticed any additional noise from the diff mechanism though.
