Anyone on this forum? They ask for VIN Number to register. Seems a bit excessive doesn't it?

Think about it - prevention is better than cure! If you've got one you get in, if not you have to go elsewhere.
Isn't that the general idea behind the introduction of the Owners Vault, to afford owners a degree of privacy?

Funny that Alex - I tried to sign up the other day and it wouldn't let me ... said something about membership full ... looks like it's opened up again. Just signed up myself, will let you know how I get on

Same, although admin emailed me few days back to say they are open for business again and taking on new members so registered. Got to the VIN number bit and didn't expect to have to share my VIN on a public forum.
What exactly would they need a VIN for?

I don't approve of the practise but there are easier ways to get M3 CSL VIN numbers and is not hard at all is easy ....
