Default Replacement discs/pads - AP

I think my front discs are on their way out as after my last track days at the Nordschleife there seems to be a lot of small cracks around the drilled holes (I will post up some pictures when I get back home). Furthermore my pads seem to be down to the last 7mm of meat left - presumably dangerously close to the rivets that holds the material in place. What is the cut off mark/thickness on RS29s?

I have DS5000 for normal road use and RS29s for track only and run a full AP Racing set up.

Anyway what are most using for replacement discs with AP? I take it AP discs still have a bad reputation - is anyone running AP disc (and tracking their car). Aside from that what else is there - PF discs - £475 (??)/ AP/ BMW OEM/ Alcon (or does this require other replacement parts???? I take it grooved is the way to go now.

Finally if you have any tips any pointers as to where best prices/ sourcing will be appreciated. No rush as I am away until August and not tracking the CSL for a while. It is the GT3's turn .

I've got same set up
Rs29's
Ap front discs
Oem backs

Similar purpose
No problems.

Contacted thorney Motorsport and asked the same questions you are asking and sent a picture to them.
They were helpful, but didn't have stock available immediately.

I am sure there are other reputable sources.

I'd be interested also as could do with some more pads in particular.

I don't see why the whole 'shite AP' discs thought still prevails.

I've had 2 sets of AP discs since buying my AP setup over 3 years ago and have not had any issues at all bar one front disc developing a crack which extended to the disc edge (the discs were worn at that stage).

I have done plenty of UK track days and Ring trips, etc. Small hairline cracks are quite normal on AP discs. I use RS29 pads.

Weve never had issues with using both style AP Disks, supplied and used these on different race and track day cars for 6 years now.

AP front discs are fine, just make sure they are bedded in not with the ds2500

they craze earlier than PF but last as long in my humble opinion

but small cracks around the holes and 7mm left sounds like you have 6monrhs use left
