No they are standards but i think someones fitted jelly for brake pads.
Think im going to have to bite the bullet and buy A.P with doesnt go with my philiosophy of keeping the car as original as possible Why doesnt BMW recongnise its also quite important to stop as well as go really pissing me off now, spoiling the drive |

Mine are standard too, but with Pagid pads which I hoped would help but actually makes it worse - they squeal like hell and I fear will warp the discs.
There's some good threads on here about uprating the brakes, but I fear I am also going to need to get APs all round. Anyone with sage advice, please chime in. I had heard the best option is to take the car to Simpsons in Gloucester and have them sort it, at a not inconsiderable cost. |

Hi,
While I agree that the std CSL Brakes are not matched to the rest of the Car, the BMW official Lap time at the Ring was done in a std Car. There are some CSL owners with many aftermarket parts, that can not get anywhere near that time. It could be something to do with how the Brakes are used. Regards, The Gorilla |

I hear your comments about using the brakes differently but i dont buy that.
Ive tried being feather light with them but they just wirrr terribly... I am coming out of a 900kg exige however, but even my VAN brakes work better than the CSL brakes.. Id love to know what pads are in there. Gutted what you said about the pagids, perhaps you were running too high temp ones? I ran the pagid blues on my exige and they were fantastic even thougu they sqeeked. The funny thing is the actualy braking power is fantastic they just dont last when your braking hard from high speeds |
