Default 2012 MOT Test

Hi,

As some of the Members are involved in
the Motor Industry I was wondering
what their views where on the MOT
rule changes for 2012 /

Just as an example Rear Cat delete on
a E90 M3 will be a fail.

Emissions Test to be on year of ''engine'' fitted
not year of 'Car', and all required Cats fitted.

Any Suspension modifications that are considered
inappropriate, fail.

Who says what is inappropriate ?

I would guess this is primarily aimed at the
Spring 'choppers' but it allows to much
personal indiscretion.

Was just curious on how those involved view
all this, as its certainly 'creep' towards a pan
European style of Test.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

EU reckons changing wheels and tyres to a larger size will reduce your mpg so increase your co2 so they are thinking of increase your road tax into the next band.

what bollocks...........

They should charge car with roof racks and mud flaps on.......... hey Alex

Default Tax!

If we decrease our wheel size and rolling radius does the tax decrease then....thought not!....funny how it never seems to work the other way round with these euro bureaucrats!?!

Hi,

From what I understand, the 2012 changes
are all part of an EU directive which is all
on going.

I spoke with a Local MOT Tester and he is of
the view that this is just the start.

He said that a Pan European MOT based around
the German TUV test was their ultimate goal.

The Gorilla.
