Suspension or BBK ?
Well folks, the mods / improvements are in full flow now.
Collected my wheels this morning after a re-furb and promptly fitted my new Pilot SS along with new centre's, BMW valves & new M badges and playing with 12 / 15 mm wheel spacers as well. Got rid of the fried egg indicator's and slapped my LED number plate lights on whilst I was at it. Private plate going on next week and dent guy coming on Thursday to remove the dent my next door neighbour kindly give my drivers door. So what next, BBK or some suspension? I feel the car needs lowered but would like a BBK as well and cant get both at the same time so what first? Wont be seeing any real track work until later in the year when I will hopefully get a ring trip in. |

Standard suspension is best for road and ring, so I recommend BBK first, then go for suspension when more pennies are saved and you venture on track |

I agree with Lawsy even though he's a Scouser and my gut reaction is always to argue with him,
I had BBK straight away and Intrax after two years. For the ring thisnwould have been fine but with UK track days do both at the same time as it saves loads on tyre wear. Don't get caught up on lowering the car straight off for the Ring as chances are you will slow yourself down. Original suspension is as good as you'll ever need there , I am told

Good to see things are coming along nicely Chris.
What spacers did you have on at that Titanic meet? Reason I ask is, I had 12mm on at one point and thought they were spot on but yours looked more, maybe those were the 15mm? IMO, too much maybe but each to their own I understand. Who done your wheels? I've a mate who can do them, but I've heard good things about Nuluk is it? £80 a wheel, so not the cheapest but apparently the best around. That was nice of your neighbour though, I take it they're paying for the dent? I had one taken out her Golf down at that 'The Motor Gym' in Bangor meet and you'd never know it had been there, it was a cracker as well, right on the seam/crease boy done well. I'd go for Brakes first mate, personally. I think the ride height on the CSL is spot on especially with Cups fitted. I'd love both too but if I was making a choice I'd go brakes first, everytime. |

Ever the contrarian, only happy when going against the tide and it's dark & raining.
I would honestly say rs 29's / fluid /hoses and suspension is what I'd do if I started again. Sometimes I really think going back to that brake setup to prove a point to myself. I take from others the standard suspension for the ring but for normal tracks I feel there would be advantage with Intrax for handling & as shimmy said tyre wear. So from me, suspension with pads upgrade. If at a later date you feel the need to conform then do the apees but imo they won't put you as far ahead as intrax. I'd say;
Intrax BBK - if only to improve the looks over standard, horrid looking brakes. CSL looks great but brakes let it down big time IMHO. |

Matt already told you so i'll just say the illuminated doorsills are LED and you'll want it when you see it in person. BMW performance are on another lever to CSL seats. I'm happy with Brembo but will need Intrax - are you selling or what?!! Wiejska and bigos - i had yesterday.

All very good on the internet Mr Fuchs but at the first visit to Bedford you'd be picking kitty litter out of your sump tray!
