http://www.vorshlag.com/product_info...roducts_id=169 seems to be the best part to replace the rubber, what do you think of this ? any alternative ? wich one (3/4, 1 ?) is good for the shaft ?

Hi,
Many Track and Race Cars replace the Rubber Guibo with either a solid Alloy spacer or a Delrin one. Just so you know, the Rubber is designed to split upon hard impact so that the forces generated should not push the steering coloum into the Drivers chest. Would be an ideal means for an Insurance company to walk away if it was discovered upon a big shunt. I have a solid one on my E30 M3 but the steering coloum picks ups are all altered and extra tube has also been welded in picking up the front Cage in Triangulation. Regards, The Gorilla. |
