intake question!!!!
hey guys....
one more question from me... can someone please tell me or show me a picture ( which would be best ) where exactly this tube is located in the bumper??????? and if its not pointed to the front of the car in the center mesh of the bumper what exactly does it do, and how it works???? i have seen pictures that is is being mounted next to the big hole in the bumper facing down which i can't understand how it is sending air in the intake...or if it doesn't sending air what is the purpose of this tube????? can someone help on this?

Nick,
Is this the second tube going to the down-part of the intake ( I assume it is ) ? Are you using the standard BMW tube (it looks to me a bit long) ? This tube is going to the bottom of the bumper. Check here -> http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E4...trim/air_duct/ Number 19. |

actually the above picture is from a csl that i found here!! is there a pic of it on the bumper? until now i had it facing front ( direct air going into it) and was "holding" it from the middle mesh of the bumper.... but i think that i had it wrong cause their is no way BMW put it like i did...i searched around and found a different location for it but i want to know for sure!!! in the oem csl bumper there is a bracket next to the big hole that the large air tube is "sitting" where you suppose to mount it... i want to know for sure that's why i am asking here!!! check the pictures bellow!!!

It's mounted on the built in bracket next to the large intake hole in the bumper (with two plastic rivets) and wrapped around in exactly the way you've shown in picture two in the second post.
It's also zip tied to the bumper bar to stop it from flopping down onto the large intake tube. I'll take a photo for you tonight from my spare bumper where all this hardware is already mounted on it. Edit: Here you go: Last edited by NZ_M3; 30-11-2010 at 05:58 AM. |
