Beat me to it, as I have been on the search for one and after chatting to the boys at Brands the Clarke (1.25t) comes out favorite. I have however seen the Arcan (1.8t) at Costco which im after but yet to find someone who is close to a Costco with an account.

The smallest jacks I have start at 25 tonnes mate !! up to 100 tonnes.

I would go 1.5 tonnes, as a rule, I try and only use 80% of capacity, always leave a bit in reserve, and seals prob last longer spending less time at max load.

Came across this little puppy too last week, which looks interesting. Plugs into exhaust tip and takes upto 3 tonne! Goes up in 0.2s with a SS! Lightweight Solutions!

Alex, I have used airbags before to prop up bridges when taking heavy loads across them, and If you arent careful, that fooker will inflate and flip your car right over !!

Seriously though, they are good, but you must be careful not to split them or cut them on any sharp edges to u/side of car, and don't think that by being an airbag that they cant cause damage if wrongly positioned as in the case of a trolley jack
