clutch issues
got the car in the dealer`s with clutch slur been told it needs a clutch can somebody tell me at what thickness will the plate start to slip as ive told them i want the old clutch when its done.

I think i read on hear ,if its above 1.1mm you should be ok,it has 2mm when new.

Official BMW TIS states that anything below 1mm measured at the opening side of the rivet = replace.

They will probably find the clutch has plenty of life left. It's usually down to the compensator causing the slur. Ask to see it when it comes out. If it's not clutch wear they should change the clutch, flywheel and anything else required fully under warranty.

thanks for the replies. this is the reason i asked them to give me the clutch back.
