Finished AP re-furb (at last)
I don't want to bore everyone (again) with the nightmare I have had with these brakes
I picked them up today and am very happy with them and they are ready to go on A warning to anyone who wants to buy 2nd hand brake kits. Go and visually inspect them first !!!! Or it will end up costing more than a new kit I was hoping to get them on this week but it will be the middle of next week, along with a custom made exhaust |

Looking good.
I bought a second hand BBK once and the discs were below the minimum thickness (and not as described), the seller replaced them so it turned out OK in the end.

piston seals were gone, some pistons damaged, very little if any paint on the callipers. No rear disks as advertised, front disks totally fooked inc bells, described as it good nick with only a few road miles. No rear hoses ...... advertised as a good full kit with all parts ! List of spends (approx ish) Recon callipers £400 (1st couple of companies couldnt do inc AP) Paint callipers £150.00 ( £100 to a mate and £40 to local sign writer) Hoses £70 + £60 on first set that didnt fit Disks all round £850 New pads all round £400 & 7/8 months sorting / headache It would have been easy if AP could do a full refurb but they said they were unrepairable and they dont offer a re paint service seller helped out with |

Bloody eBay I guess was it!? I've bought a couple of second hand brake kits in the past, first one wasn't that good and I sold it on, second lot I bought off a mate, they worked great on his car but weren't as good when fitted to mine so wasn't best pleased! It's all well and good going second hand on things but I've been had too many times now, turbo's, brakes, interior parts, people are c*nts! You just can't trust them so I wait and buy new now!
