Newbie...CSL found!
Hi all,
This is my first post, and I'm already after help! Me and the missus have been bimmerheads for a long time, so have a real weakness when it comes to the performance models (having had 2 Z3MCoupes previously)! I've just been offered 19.5k px for my wifes Z4Coupe on an 07 plate against a CSL. It's from a main dealer (so comes with full warranty)...due in very shortly and have seen some pics and it looks awesome. I've never driven a CSL but have driven a few standard M3's. I have a number of questions: 1. How easy it it to get access into the rear seats. 2. What are the front seats like on 3hr+ journeys??? 3. What are they like to live with day to day? 4. Finally, the car has Auto Air Con but not Xenons....are there any must have options? Thanks in advance and I hope to be posting regularly! David |

rear seat access is fine, when your in there is more room than M3 front seats are comfortable especially if your less than 16 st. Car is a little jumpy when cold and hardish suspension on road but perfectly drivable. Essential extras imho is A/C. Rest just nice to have |

I use mine for a daily and many do on here! However I am on the hunt for a daily runner for the winter while it goes into hibernation for the wet months, which means all year round. Front seats like shimmy said are comfortably in you have a recaro shape to ya, and I do always look forward to getting out and having a stretch on a long run 2hrs+. IMHO air con isnt a problem as its an excuse to hear the induction roar with the window wide open, i couldn't do without xenons for night driving but there is a plus without, you do shed a few pounds! Just get one and join the fun... |

Hi Dave,
Much the same answers as previous: 1. Access is ok but can be a bit of a squeeze for bigger adults! I can fit a kiddy seat ok through the gap, however. 2. I find the seats very comfortable indeed - i am 5'9" of average build. I drove to Italy and back last year and then straight up to Scotland and the car was great. 3. Day to day is ok too. The car doesn't need to be driven like a hooligan all the time and is a reasonably refined motorway cruiser with decent boot capacity. 4. My car has all 4 additional options (A/C, Xenons, Stereo, PDC) My order of importance: 1. A/C, 2. Xenons, 3. PDC, 4. Stereo. A/C is a must if you will do lots of miles or carry passengers/kids during hot weather on long trips. Xenons are superb. I really miss mine when i drive my wife's Toyota. They also make the front of the car look a little more aggressive too IMHO. I really didn't care that my car had PDC when i bought it but now i love it and it makes reverse parking a breeze. You will tend to reverse into most parking spots to eliminate splitter damage usually arising from parking front-end in! I upgraded my stereo but it still struggles to compete with the combined airbox/exhaust noise! I just use my iPod when i want good sound quality. Usually the airbox sound wins my ears' attention though... I drove a few M3 variations during my search and the CSL does indeed stand head and shoulders above the others. This really makes sense on the track more than anywhere else Get a CSL - you won't regret it!

Car is comfy on long journey's recently did 3.5k round trip through Europe to HungaroRing & Nurburgring. Tis nice to stretch afterwards tho lol.
Car is fine for daily use Xenons can be fitted later on if you want them |
