Xenon head lamp problem
Hi all,
today I noticed that my driver side xenon light when switched on intermittently flickers on/off. Its annoying as hell and I'm not sure what's the issue. Its been raining alot lately and I'm not sure whether that has anything to do with it. Any help is much appreciated. P.S. Anyone had this issue with their CSL? |

went to my local stereo dealer and he looked at the issue and the flickering was due to the Xenon bulb on the way out. Replaced it and everything is back to normal now.

Nice one Digi, did you bother with higher rated bulbs or stick with the OEM standards?
I ask as I hear alot of M3 drivers upgrading to High Temp Xenon bulbs. I've found that my Xenon's aren't as good as they were when I 1st got the car. I'm wondering if maybe I've just got used to them as when I drive the other halves Golf, the lights are SHOCKING bad. Non-Xenons. Apparently you can get a set of uprated bulbs for about £30 delivered, considering it myself but might go down the cleaning the inside of the lense/around the bulb route 1st. |

I upgraded to 8K D2's. Much brighter than before so pretty pleased with that. If you get a pair of D2C's it will fit no probs. 30 quid is a good price!!! The 8K are still fairly white, but at certain angles you get a blue tint. I believe the OEM's were like 6.5K If your bulbs are 2yrs or older they will be alot less illuminating. Reason I say that is my passenger side is fien and I initially only changed the driver side. God behold, the passenger side was alot dimmer than the new bulb. I replaced the passenger side the next day and the lights are providing better illumination. Hope this helps!! Let us know what you change to becoz u can get all diff type of colors and temps. Was really tempted to changed to the pinkish bulbs but I'm sure I'd get pulled within the hour around my neck of woods. |
