SL55 AMG F1 Pace car edition
As mentioned in another post, I picked up one of these recently. The majority seem to be earlier cars 2002/3 but this is one of tge last, a 2007 car on 47k miles. I have only done 100 or so miles so far. It is not as loud as I thought it might be, pretty refined when plodding along but with bags of torque and a nice growl when you want it. It isn't a sports car and doesn't feel like one. It does feel like it can cross continents effortlessly which I will be testing in a few weeks when I take it to Stuttgart. It is built like a tank with a great build quality and quality of materials and the folding roof is brilliant. I'll get a load more pictures up in the next few days, here it is at home with my CSL which will get a new thread soon too for the work recently done at ML.

My 7 rear old's response after a drive on Sunday morning was that it is too loud and not fast enough. Personally I think it is relatively quiet and would benefit from a switchable exhaust, the exhaust note is typical big V8, low and growly, even when the revs are up it never zings. I wouldn't want it loud all the time though. I don't know where you are based, but I will be heading from Nottingham down to Folkstone in a few weeks, then the weekend after back to Nottingham via a stay in Central London, if you are anywhere on route you are welcome to meet up to have a poke around. Nice collection MC, I had a lovely SL55 for a while, Tanzanite blue, very low miles. Wonderful engine, great for wafting around in and dropping the roof was great when the weather allowed. Very beautiful cars too, I sold mine to get another //M but do miss it. The battery was always going flat if not driven everyday.
