Default Yanto has got me thinking

Following on from Oh my goodness.

Time to show your age gents and cslgirl.

When you first passed your test what cars did you lust over but could not quite afford. I am not talking about dream cars, e.g. Lambo, etc but cars just out of reach.

For me it was the Renault Gordini & Alfasud.

For me it was the hot hatches. 205gti, rs turbo, Sierra Cosworth, even fast Rovers. Then the proper dream cars like the 959 or F40. Lambourghini Diablo when that was introduced.
I passed my test in 1991, I'm 41.

Not telling when I passed my test, but you could work it out from my choice of cars.

Liked the 205gti, however I chose the Fiat Abarth 130

The closest I came was a 900s saloon in my early 20's, I loved that car even though I never looked after it

Well I bet it was quicker than my 8v saloon. It had a "5 Speed" badge sitting proudly on the back too

I nearly went to look at a 2-door sedan 900 T16S a couple of years ago, but then this popped up for sale and knew it had to be bought. It would have been getting sold to its first owner when I started to learn to drive

Cheers Jeff it was a particularly great example but as I later realised 240 bhp just wasn't enough for me U know what they say... "Power corrupts"
BTW my second car (first VERY sensible car) was a Classic shape SAAB 900i... but a TURBO 8V with epic Turbo lug and yes T16S was also a dream at the time but they were big bucks in the 90's thanks to a certain Trend at the time. Pic below of my Golden Swedish wonder
