Working all weekend and then Monday, but then take the wife and kids to Hong Kong for Christmas for a radical change from the norm - no presents, but instead, a life experience. Also helps me avoid the extended family.
Anyone with good recommendations for things to do in HK at Christmas, feel free to chime in. |

Go have afternoon tea at the peninsula Hotel one day. Great atmosphere there at Christmas time!

Go to:
1. Peak for view and get dinner at cafe deco or others 2. Walk around ladies streets (Mong Kok) for bits and bobs (tourist stuff) 3. Walk around Mong Kok area, loads of shops and Sin Tat centre for mobile phones. 4. TST/Central for the usual big brands if the Mrs is into that. 5. Go to Tsui Wah Rest. for medium price chinese dinner (reason I recommend this is that they are a chain of tea meal resturants in HK and probably represents the local HK food culture) 6. Beers and a chill up with expats go to Lan Kwai Fong in Central (good for X'mas and count down!) 7. You can go see the buddha in Lantau (airport express will get you there) 8. Take the kids to amusement park Ocean Park on Hong Kong Island side 9. Go for a day trip to Macau (get ferry from TST). Visit all the casino hotels (Venetian etc) That should keep you well busy. Just remember its easy to burn through your wallet if you don't prudently plan it. Peninsula hotels high tea is over rated and personally I think its not all that. There are loads of other hotels that do a superior high tea. Maybe high tea at Venetian. Happy X'mas and New Years everyone! P.S. If your families mobiles are unlocked, get a $98 buck mobile sim card from 7/11 with data if you need to be connected.
