How well does the CSL take to mapping?
As it's pretty highly strung NA unit, I'm guessing not much of a performance gain?

I personally wouldn't touch it! unless running aggressive headers, de-cat/ sports cats, trick cams, SC etc there really is no real advantage.

BHP gain against cost is minimal. Simpson Motorsport offer several levels of remapping but as Alex has already mentioned unless you're running aftermarket cams and exhaust it may not be beneficial

I got mine done at evolve £350 cash and to be honest i got solid 15bhp gain
Its not a great amount but the car is smoother less jerky and consumes less fuel (sport off)
So im pretty happy with mine price v performance its not great but £1800 headers for 10bhp it makes it a worthy mod!!!

a nice retune will net you around 10-15BHp without the need for cams or headers. If you want to gain some good power get the SS V1 Stepped headers and a tune.

I'm not going to be spunking thousands on this car which I'll never see back. Been there done that.

Coming from turbo cars, where a simple remap can nett 30% gains, I wax keen to understand how a NA car might behave. Its not just about bhp gains, more about the way it delivers it.

In this instance I probably won't bother, but good to hear people's views all the same.

Your right on a turbo you get 30% power gain but not a great tourque figure
With n/a you get better torque vs power so 15% torque is what you will feel with a map on n/a engines

Actually you get similar torque values to power values (% increase). Turbos are all about torque. The shove into the back if the seat from turbos kicking in, is the torque.

But regardless it seems like a lot if cash for not a lot of gain. If it were that good the majority of owners on here would be running mapped cars and I bet you can count in single figures those that have mapped...

To be honest, I noticed very little difference. Car pulls hard to redline which I had raised to 8400 but your not going to get in the car and think 'oh my god' but it gets rid of little factory flat spots.
