S54 and S65 Rod Bearing GB - WPC treated GB
Hello Guys, I am posting this here as many of us in the states have been buying new rod bearings for the S54 and S65. The reason is this is one of the two major weak points of the car. If you were not aware there was a recall done on rod bearings because they have a tendency to go bad. Because of this as a community we worked together and made our own GB group for buying bearings. As of 4/21 we have a GB in progress so if you wish to join let me know. If not you will have to wait till we get 5 people wanting bearings. That is the minimum we need to get the discounted prices. S54 Bearing Kit - $226.44 -- 6 Upper / 6 Lower bearings $10.91 --- Group rate shipping to WPC $39.00 --- WPC cost with 20% discount $20.30 --- Shipping from WPC to me then to you $296.65 -- Total for GB each $5.00 ---- Just in case shipping is incorrect $301.65 -- Total less international shipping. European Shipping is $50-60 depending on location. If some of you live near each other you can split shipping costs. Rod Bolts for motors that are 2003 - newer ONLY!!! 2001-2002 do not need bolts as per BMW re-use the current ones. $42.90 ----- x12 Rod Bolts at $3.41 each and $2 for extra shipping.. *Please remember I am not a business and are doing this as fellow enthusiasts.* WPC treated OEM bolt pricing would be as follows - This is not a coating but a treatment. |

I'm thinking of ordering a set of s54 bearings off m3dragom.
I have been in contact and he said the price is 312 dollar's plus 40-50 shipment. Anyone interested in jumping on the band wagon? |

At £300 they are not far off twice the price of a standard set. I have not yet heard of anybody who has changed a standard set having any further issues. If you change them once every 60k miles that would be the life of the car for most people. I will need a set at some point but will most likely just go for OEM or King.

Good to know. I have heard good things about king racing.
I didn't realise these are twice the price of OEM. I need to price original bearings at my local and see. Last edited by Schoonerm3; 01-11-2016 at 01:21 PM. |
