Suspension E92 Options
I know most have CSL's but looking for a bit of help and advice on suspension for my E92 M3.
After Bedford track day 3 weeks ago i feel the car is way to soft even with the EDC set to full sport. There is no where near enough camber on the front. Options. KW V3. Come with EDC Delete kit. No top mounts tho so would need to sort top mounts for the front to overcome this? KW Clubsport. Always found them to stiff for the road. But do come with top mounts. Bilstein B16. I was at the Autosport Show today and Bilstein had a E92 on there stand running a set of there B16 Dampers which have the EDC Control. But again don't come with top mounts. Nitron. What option are there? I will be using the car around 3-5k a year on the road. 2-3 Ring Trips and Track days as often as possible. Regards |

Thanks for the reply. Do you not find the Clubsport to stiff Shane? I have not driven them on the road. Apart from top mounts what are difference with V3 over Clubsport.
I did have a look at the Nitron stand and saw the E92 kit which looked great. not sure about the solid mounting for the rear struts on the bottom tho. Might cause knocking? |

I was thinking KW V3 with these front top mounts to get camber and castor adjustment

That car belongs to Iain Litchfield as I was talking to him about it today. Could be worth giving him a call to see if he has a demonstrator to drive - he'll probably let you drive his own. I'm going to try that - he has also remapped it and is running supersprint exhaust and BBK

My friend has a standard E92 with EDC which I have driven many times, and the most noticeable improvement on the Litchfield car was...(no surprise for the owner of any M3)...the brakes. They were absolutely diamond sharp and perfect, but then if you look at the size of them, they make the AP's on my CSL look small.
The suspension was also much tighter, but I've not driven the Competition version, so couldn't compare. I would definitely speak to Iain and get a drive, if you're interested. He told me that the E92 mule is something of a sleeper among his customers, in that almost every GT-R owner who drives it falls in love with it. |
