Mercedes A200 CDi AMG?
I know I may get shot down in flames here but what are peoples thoughts on these? Shane?
The Mrs is keen on the looks but neither of us have driven one. I've never been fussed on MB but this is a much fresher, 'younger' looking MB and thought it would suit our needs well. Red, AMG with 18's (Silver wheels not black) Panoramic Roof, Sat Nav etc etc It's to be a work car for my Wife so Deisel is most attractive, hatchback as she's in and out the boot every other hour so no saloons. She's had a Golf for 7 years and loved it, but fancies something away from VW and cannot warm to the 1 Series at all. No Seats, Audis, Skodas, Fords, Vauxhauls, Peugeots, Renault or any Jap stuff appeals to either of us, she's really sold on the A-Class, thoughts? An example I found after a quick search. Great little cars. Quite roomy. Drive nice. Enough grunt. Great on fuel.
So far no reliability issues to worry about. |

Had a good look round a customers & they’re a lot nicer in the flesh but the permanent TomTom on the dash looks like a real afterthought.

Cheers for all, well most of the comments.
They are fairly chunky looking in the flesh, the standard one looks a bit naff but the AMG kitted one with the chunkier bumpers and nicer interior is much nicer. Have to agree with you though Jonny, the screen arrangement is a bit of an afterthought and the guy in Agnews wasn't chuffed when I asked if it could be removed and put in the glovebox. The more I look at it though, the more I 'get used to it'. Not too interested in leasing one to be honest, would rather purchase but thanks for the heads up. The prices vary greatly from £21k up to well over £30k for a well specced, very low miler. They are more expensive that the average hatchback I agree but I only hope to see a similar gap at the other end of the ownership, like most things. I will be waiting until the January sales anyway, end Feb but thought I would start doing a bit of digging now. Auto or Manual? I'm for Auto if I'm honest. Again, my Wife does a fair bit of town driving so feel the absence of a clutch pedal would do her good. Last edited by sailorbaz; 19-11-2013 at 07:41 AM. |
