Default Help, definitive thread 18" wheels, standard suspension

Some say ok, others not ok. Information is across many threads I think so...

Please can you give details wheels/offsets, actually experience track/road, detail any problems with fixes if found.

About to order 235 19 but really want to go 18's and 265's all round on standard suspension...help!

have you got adjustable top mounts Wheels? they are a necessary evil I think to reap any benefit of the extra grip

Thanks Jim, yeah got adjustable top mounts set at 1.5d 1mm toe in road, 2.5d 1mm toe out track.

Looking for being able to rotate AND little better front end. Really need to get it sorted asap.

18s offer a wider range of tyre choice and invariably at a better price too which is an added bonus.
If your looking for increased front end grip then a wider front (still staggered) or square set up is what you want. For track it kills it, for road it's fine, I run 265 up front all year round on road & track no problem.
In terms of offset, based on a 9J rim for example you don't want to go anymore then ET25 Front/ ET10 Rear - that is pretty much Max with a decent amount of neg camber so I'd go somewhere around ET30 Front / ET15 Rear for ideal fitment either square or staggered, you won't have any issues at all.
