Default Michelin Delivery dates!!!

Morning to all,

Thought I was being smart by ordering my new Cups at the start of April to make sure they're in stock for me getting home on the 6th May for fitting however, they keep pushing the delivery date back day by day. Now it's the 30th April!

Anyone else having similar issues with Michelin? The rears they have, it's just the fronts that are posing the problem. This really isn't good news for me since it's the fronts I really need and they won't see Belfast, never mind Munich!

I thought I read somewhere that they were holding back with CSL Sized cups but I could have been dreaming and if they are, for what reason.

Any help, or re-assurance would be greatly appreciated
Need some CSLR Loving...

I spent a week looking for Cups, plenty had rears but nowhere had the fronts.
I contacted Brian at Camskill, who said Michelin were holding them and were only permitting certain distributors access to limited stock.
He said he would have a word with Michelin to see if they would release. I reminded him that I had previously ordered when the last offer was posted and missed out.

I also pointed out who our traveling companions were - how embarrassing that would be if we all turned up wearing 'Continentals' or 'Pirelli'
Sure enough, he came back and said yes, so I bit his hand off.

However I did have a contingency:

and

Euro Rubber - Cups from Germany with FREE UK delivery. Good luck with sourcing, Barry

My tyre guys have told me if he can't get them soon, there's a Distributer in England that has them, apparently. Could be Camskill I suppose, but the place I use has recently become an approved Michelin Dealer do your think they'd have some clout at least.

Tyre man spoke to Michelin who admitted we won't have them in time for leaving Europe bound, 18th May. So he's sourcing fronts from the mainland which should be with us in Norn Irn next week. What a bloody carry on for RUBBER!

Time to get 'shimmy' on the case of the missing rubber, he's got the contacts at Michelin, perhaps he can find out what's going on with UK Cups, as I've said this could prove a big embarrassment for Michelin

Guys,
Not sure if it helps, but I was looking at lovetyres.com and their website states they have 4 rears and fronts 'in stock's. Prices seem ok too.

Can't post links cos I'm typing this on my Playbook.

what's the difference 'tween Cups and Cups+????

I'm thinking of ditching my new contis from my car (as rears are wrong size, and that's...well...wrong)

For a weekend car, mainly dry use, are Cups OK?

I will be going to Wales, and it often rains, how bad are Cups in this scenario?
Are they ditch finders?
