100k club entry level price...

Hello all, ok some advice needed from you well educated folk on here

What price would a 115k mile CSL be worth in today's market, with impeccable history and very well known forum car?

Most sensible answer wins a signed photo

If you're referring to a very well known forum car
then it would be circa 40K

Only one springs to mind with that mileage ;)

MisterCorn 15-02-2016 07:23 AM

£30-35k

Chappers 15-02-2016 09:24 AM

At least £35-40 I would say. If mine went up I'd probably go for £39995 and see who bit.

How many miles has yours done ?

Chappers 15-02-2016 09:41 AM

123500, but it's had quite a few new bits of late.

Excellent what are the things you can expect to go wrong as those cars rack up the miles . Just wondered how much one might need to budget for engine and suspension wise ?

Couldn't tell you exactly right now because I don't have the service history folder to hand but I had the camshaft failure last year that a few people have had and ended up doing a load of preventative maintenance while it was waiting for them to arrive, so it's had new main and big end bearings, VANOS refresh, oil pump refresh (both just ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt), head gasket, I also changed the valves, stem seals, lifters. Yes, it was expensive but...

This is all because I went on track with a leaking oil cooler though, I would say, rather than anything mileage related. Obviously a few on here have had exactly the same thing happen...

As for the rest of it... rear springs, bushes, steering wheel has been recovered, the mirror leaked at some point and it had some SMG work under warranty at around 110,000 miles (I quote, from the engine rebuilder, "the gearbox all looks brand new inside") if I find anything else I'll let you know.

Usual age related stuff too, it's had stonechips done on the front probably more than once, windscreen has some chips in it that I need to fix.

Other than that, thanks to the warranties it's in utterly amazing condition for the mileage.

Thanks that's very useful much appreciated .

£35k, 92000 miles.

Well that's not going to help Matt's cause or the steady price rise is it? Absolute bargain for someone.

Good find Chappers

All things considered this car is a bargain and will snapped up pretty quick.

MisterCorn 15-02-2016 05:33 PM

It certainly looks priced to sell. I will be suprised if it hangs around. Particularly for a dealer sale.

While you may be right, it's OK by me. So long as ML make their profit margin that's all that matters
As for the car ... what a great looking Cecil :smt055 and if you look closely you'll realise it has no Xenons, No PDC and No A/C so it's one of alleged 3 "Option Less" UK RHD CSL :smokin: IMHO it looks nicer than that 17K mile CSL.
100% priced to sell in the next 24 Hour. PH Ad link: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...m3-csl/5276670

Matt21 15-02-2016 06:44 PM

Absolute bargain. Delimited as well. Tempted to buy and use as a daily.

That is worth £40k all day long.

pops 15-02-2016 07:09 PM

Looking at it on that basis..

Mine doesn't have xenons or pdc but does have aircon.

Must've been a poverty spec one :bigcry:

Mines the same speck as yours mate  Only 2 options: A/C & BMW Business CD... not poverty speck but "Option light" ;) :hahaha:

shimmy 15-02-2016 07:28 PM

so mine at 105k miles will be worth £50k + coz Barry always says my car is faster than his, it has something extra......obviously isn't the driver!

Blimey seem to have stimulated some conversation, which is good

Ok the car in question has all options bar pdc, has had the boot floor done, head gasket and all other weak points and is very well known ;)

I think £35k is a fair price, it is also the faster colour...
