I left the BMW network after 15 years for this reason, I remember there patter years ago telling us all they wanted to be in the same league as Rolex, M&S, John Lewis and Rolls Royce for customer service, they have clearly forgotten about these days !!!! It was bad when I got out in 2005 now you will get better service in a Ford main dealer.

QUOTE=shawn 968cs;175917]After reading this thread I feel lucky about my recent experiences, Its a bit worrying the way BMW feels like its going to me, I had to wait over 6 months for some trim on my CSL, no idea of delivery from BMW after chasing each month, then it just turned up out of the blue.
I had problems with brakes sticking on my week old M3 F80, and had to push hard to get my money back, + no follow up from BMW UK and when I spoke to them basically couldn't give a Sh@~.
My wife's X5 has bad corrosion on the wheels which is covered by warranty and they have been on order for over 3 months and again BMW have no idea when they will turn up. Which is a pain as want to change it soon.
They are certainly leaving the door wide open for avid BMW fans to go to Merc' AMG's, certainly feels like BMW don't care to me.
Very sad state of affairs, I never thought I would say it , but seriously starting to think about test driving a AMG merc's now.
Rant over.

Dealer information to me is that the CSL camshaft supplier has changed after stock had ran down. The wait is for new camshafts to be approved from the new supplier as OK to fit, and that first batch failed testing.

As part of OEM engineering and industry this is believable to me as the testing and re-sourcing time frame is always long and drawn out.

We can all speculate as to who was/is the supplier and the reason for the change.

Schrick confirmed they produce the cams for bmw.ca international and i think Martin (trackm3) also asked schrick

Nevertheless, just wanted to point out they're not the same as the 288/280s

BMW customer service is the best.

I have to drive to Greece to my brother who is also a BMW dealer to do a geometry alignment.
I cannot do it in CH

I should probably not start about the M5...

So, picked up new M3 yesterday for a week, 500 miles on the clock, drive to costa, 1 mile up the road and puncture.

Then my M3 Experience at Bedford today cancelled due to rain.

Think I need to sell up!

BMW customer service, is good for; Sales and Service but as regards the provision of parts it's almost nonexistent.
It's becoming the norm when have I been in for parts to be told they are not in stock, boot badge, grill badge, nothing too tasking but never the less, not in stock.

This isn't instant experience either, usually taking about a 30min wait to get served, plenty of personnel milling about with papers in hand but nobody actually servicing the counter.

My dad tells me it wasn't like that in his day.
