Picked my new CSL up yesterday
I finally got down to Reading yesterday to pick up the CSL I put a deposit on a month ago. It's a good job I am not superstitious because I would have walked away from the deal after the nightmare journey I had.
It didn't start well when I got up at 5am to find 6in of snow outside. The taxi booked for 5.30am to get me to the train station did not turn up or answer their phone. So I cleared my car and set off to the station. Luckily the main roads weren't bad. At the station I found the train I had pre-booked ticket for was cancelled so I had to wait another hour for a train to Birmingham to get a connection. At Birmingham I found the connecting train was cancelled. Luckily another one was put on at the last minute so I finally got there. From this point thing got a whole lot better, finances sorted then back to the sellers house to do the paperwork and get some last minute instructions before I was on my way. I certainly had a more enjoyable journey home. The cars a 53 plate with 25k miles in fantastic condition, no marks on the interior, even in the usual places like back of the seats. The only thing i will get sorted is a slight curb mark on a back wheel. I had the car 124 point inspected by a dealer and all was well. It's only a basic spec with no xenons or PDC which is fine for me. It comes with Brembo GT brakes and a Milltek centre section/cats but standard back box. It did have a Supersprint on but a bracket broke on it so the last owner put the original back on. I will get a photo on here later as I understand it did not happen until I do. |

Well done.
Is it smart enough to take to Munich?

Nice one, enjoy.
Story remind me of a Bristol>Crawley journey I made in 2000 to pick up my new Impreza turbo. Fooked weather, trains etc. but the excitement carries you through !! |

Congratulations, the wait is over and now you can fully appreciate what all the hype is about, the joy of ownership.
"All good things come to he who waits" and you've done your fair share of that, bet the journey home was full of smiles and as the MAN said Munich awaits?

Great stuff.
You'll soon forget about cancelled trains when you press the loud button, flip it down a cog and hit the red line through the gears. I can't wait for some warm roads in the spring. |
