Default ideas for a trip next wednesday

ive decided to take a day off next wednesday and go for a drive and forget work and home for one day.

i need some ideas on where to go and what to do.

1. Must be UK (which may exclude Scotland)
2. Could be overnight
3. Must include some nice routes not just motorway driving
4. Maybe include some sights i haven't seen before (STEADY)
5. Maybe a nice odd hotel
6 Start Cambridge,

does anybody have any ideas worth airing or are we all a bit fecking boring

If you're looking for an unusual hotel, this is my all-time favourite. I've stayed here and it's mental. Check out the different rooms:

Only issue is, of course, not in the UK.

For a day trip, the New Forest area isn't bad - some good roads to the coast and some decent boutique hotels in the area. I like this: http://www.mrandmrssmith.com/luxury-hotels/the-pig
