Fuel smell on e46 M3
Just wanted to pick people's brains on this. A colleague of mine bought an e46 M3 cabriolet which smells heavily of petrol when he puts his foot down. It is a SMG M3. Is it just running rich and need re-tuning or is there likely to be something else wrong with it?
Any pointers welcome. Pip |

Really - ? What cracks in the floor or the fuel tank?

no has the tank got a breather and if disconnected the smells may be coming out high up rather than under the car

Ah I see. Thank you Shimmy. As they e46 are getting on a bit I was wondering if s9meone fould have had it tuned and fooked up so it was running rich especially as the smell seems to get worse or 'appear' when he is giving it some welly.

Pip there's a couple of senders that fit into the top of the tank unit under the rear seat (black bungs) worth a check. |
