Default Advice on black CSL

Hi all ,

i'm in the market for a CSL .

I'm interested in this black CSL on PH
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/869608.htm

Does anybody has got some more information of the car or know the first owner ?
I know that the exterior isn't perfect , front bumper needs to be resprayed and the wheels are kerbed badly .

Thanks .

I had a look at that one (internet look only) and the buyer seems to be being honest about the car's condition. It is priced fairly, bid £22K and come to an agreement somewhere in the middle?

I think thats a great buy it is always worth asking for money off

But that is a brill buy 58000 is not a lot of miles
The only down side i see is if it need money spent
it might be worth paying 25/26 k and getting a mint condition car.

He has put cheap tyres on the front and the last big service is not BMW
What else has he saved on ???????????

It is a buyers market just now and the CSL is not droping like the M3 is
you can buy the new M3 for 32/34k

Just my 2p worth

I saw the car and as Mark said the buyer is being very upfront and honest as far as I can see (no guarantee there aren't other gremlins). Not sure it needs much work I think it's priced according to it's mileage.

It all depends what you want to do with the car. If you are keeping it in the garage and just bringing it out for a few trackdays and weekend runs then it seems like a very well priced car for this. If you intend using it as a daily drive and will be doing a lot of mileage in it, then I personally would be preparing myself for a fairly serious depreciation on it (if you could find a buyer). If you look at the buyers guide thread posted on here it should help and if the car is relatively close by it should be worth a nose around if you haven't had the chance tonose around one yet

Just my opinion

S&B out

Thanks .

I'm planning too use the csl as a track car so it does not has to be a mint one , that is why i think this one is perfect for me .

The SG is the better car, but i guess it depends if you can stretch the extra grand, theres certainly nothing wrong with the black one, FBMWSH is preferable but not essential aslong as a true specialist has done the servicing.

Front respray about £500
Wheels about £50 a corner
Tyres would need changing if it was me so about £450 for fronts.

So add all that in and the car seems priced about right...maybe about 1k too much, but it's only a starting point. Could be a cheap car if as you say it's for track work....would just get a specialist report on the car if possible.

But as above the SG one is a better bet with the BMW warrenty..looks a bargain to be honest as well sorted.
