South African CSL (Number 9 of 65)
Morning All,
I have been a Lurker for a while, but finally registered. Below are a few Pics of my CSL, which I have owned for about 3 years (she is my 2nd one) In SA she is considered high mileage @ 157000km, (in fact she may be the highest mileage out of the 65 CSLS in SA) but I use her as BMW intended, to be driven. I did a full mechanical refresh 2 years ago, which cost a bomb, but all is forgiven when I hear the induction Last edited by splintheter; 10-03-2020 at 06:21 AM. |

I think because you can see its been used as well only adds to the character of the car. Awesome.

Sorry, but you are incorrect . 65 cars were brought into South Africa, you can even see the limited edition plaque stating this on the door-sill in one of the photos. Unlike the UK, each car is individually numbered - you can see that this is 9 of 65, as the owner states in the title .
Lovely car Anthony - much better than No. 47 (the slower colour ).

Thanks Gents! took the day off work yesterday to just drive! She never fails to deliver and the smile factor really never disappears.
Yes. Mike is Correct. 65 deliveries in SA, although there may be as few as 35 left (accidents or exports) Mine, is the highest mileage I have seen in SA |

The Oceania cars would be Singapore or Hong Kong as they are in the Oceania, SA isn't. It is more than likely that Australia got the extra cars from the SA allocation. Originally they were allocated 23, but ended up getting 27 and this would make sense seeing both markets are RHD. Also it is very apparent from the data that smaller markets get their cars made in batches and all the Oceania cars are made in the same batch to go to the same destination. |
