TOYO Proxes R888
Has any one used these tyres on a Trackday
And if so how do they compare with the cups ? I have heard they go off quickly and are noisy !

I have used 888 many times, csl probably too heavy to get the best out of them. I had a set of 265 to go on 9" rims, but they were far too wide, they are huge compared to cups, a048, dzo3g of the same size. They are a decent tyre but go off after about 3 hard laps, perfect tyre for sprinting, not so for hard prolonged track. That said, they are pressure critical, get pressure perfect and they are great. I imagine they would be great for the ring though, thats what I bought mine for, PS I get good discount on the 888's if you need a price |

TS - Got for Kumho V70a in hard compound, you will not regret it!! Also saves a packet on R888's which are much best suited to lighter cars.

I've not used track tyres before, so am looking forward to seeing how they perform. I'm guessing you've used them a bit? How many days do you get out of them? |

Road noise is shockingly loud
they will go off quicker than Cups. I'd try the Dunlops or Kumho first or if budget allows buy Corsa Race tyres (not corsa system)

I can vouch for the DUNLOP DZ02G 100% (which have now been superseded by DZ03g) Phenomenal dry weather grip OK ish grip in the wet, they DO NOT go off (like some suggest the R888 do ) and great (as in low) tyre ware. The only slight problem is the price. £300 !!! each + delivery for 265/35/18". I'll be interested to hear more good things about the Kumoh V70
