SOLD BMW E46 M3 CSL – Silver Grey – FBMWSH – Recent Inspection II + MOT – New Alloy Wheels/Tyres SOLD

Hooked on the ‘CSL Experience’ after an early test drive, I searched for an E46 M3 CSL for many months and ended up with a great example sporting the iconic CSL Silver Grey colour and desirable options of Air Conditioning and Xenon Headlights amongst others. Lightened and improved from the E46 M3 with a bespoke interior and power increase, the CSL was developed on the Nürburgring before selling in limited numbers from mid-2003 with my car one of the last of 422 UK specification cars to roll off the production line.

Owned since early 2008, I have an intimate knowledge of my CSL and of all maintenance work undertaken during my ownership with supporting documentation. Benefitting from Full BMW Service History, it has only been maintained by BMW Main Dealerships and the respected Simpson Motorsport in Lydney. All BMW Recalls are completed including the recent airbag module replacements and it has also had the E46 boot floor pan repair undertaken (including suspension bush overhaul) which is still covered under BMW Warranty.

My CSL has been sensibly improved with AP Racing Brakes (Front & Rear), full Supersprint Stainless Steel Exhaust System (excluding Cat) and KW Clubsport Suspension. These modifications serve to intensify the ‘CSL Experience’! Always garaged in my ownership, I used my CSL regularly at first but now find myself at a different stage in life with family and a CSL that sees little use. Reluctantly the time has come for someone new to enjoy the car.

In preparation for sale I have spared no expense fitting a brand new set of genuine E46 M3 CSL alloy wheels, bonnet grilles and a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rear tyres. Additionally, the car has received a recent Inspection II and Brake Fluid Service as well as MOT that raised no advisories or concerns.

Exterior:
The exterior paint is in very good condition bar some minor marks and some stone chips to the prone areas of the front bumper/bonnet and the leading edge of the rear wheel arches. There is no evidence of rust to the bodywork or inside the wheel arches. The front bumper was professionally repaired and painted by Simpson Motorsport in 2011 after it sustained damage from striking a grass bank at low speed.

Interior:
The seating fabric and Alcantara is in very good condition with no damage and only minor wear evident on the front seats. There are some small marks/scratches to the front seat back paint finish. The Alcantara rimmed M steering wheel is in excellent condition and all carpets/mats, headlining, trims and dash are in very good condition. The car has never been smoked in to my knowledge.

Alloy Wheels and Tyres:
The brand new CSL specific 19” RC337/338 alloy wheels are unmarked. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres are fitted to the front wheels with approximately 5 mm tread remaining; brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres are fitted to the rears.

Summary:
At just under 82k miles, my cherished CSL has below average mileage and is in great condition having been maintained regardless of cost. Known on www.cslregister.com, my car has never been involved in a crash to my knowledge, drives superbly and is one of the better examples available in an increasingly scarce market. Possessing a clean bill of health, this is a straight car that will pass any inspection and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. A Modern Classic, E46 M3 CSL values are only going upwards!

Is this the wife talking Rob? The reason I ask is that my Mrs. said exactly the same thing....Why don't WE swap the CSL for something we can all use.

So....I rented a 15 plate California spec one for one week. By day 3 (plus a load of shit weather) the dream was dead!
