i think there would be a big que for that car at £10k its a £3k repair and £25k done hello!
Jesus keep your pants on Dave... don't be so cocking aggressive. You're entitled to think my repair estimate is high but no way is it £3k as you said here and on Mtorque.

We're talking about putting the car back to as new with genuine panels right??

How much is a replacement CSL front bumper?
How much does it cost to refit curtain airbags?
How much does it cost to repair rear quarter panels?
Paint work, was gravel rash all over it.... if you want the car back to an as new standard you might well end up respraying the whole car to get a good even finish.
There was from what I could see (I was there were you?? )some front suspension damage, minor but non the less needed replacing and the car subsequently realigning.
Supply/fit replacement glass?
Wheel refurbishment?

If you can do it for £3k send me your details and I'll get the poor owner involved to get in touch about a quote.

iv seen smashed to **** csl,s make £18k
Really? recently? no, didn't think so... there are a couple of leggy but clean cars that have just changed hands for <£20k. Good cars are going for low £20k's ... so how can you justify paying much more than £10k for an accident damaged car in the current climate?

Or think of it another way... how much would you pay for a damaged and subsequently repaired car? Would you really want to pay more than £20k given you can buy an undamged one for that kind of money. That being the case how much can you justify paying for a damaged car???

And in case you wondered, no I won't be trying my hand a running a body shop, thanks for the cocking tip.

secondhand parts wing £50 door £50 quarter £100 bumper £500
£1000 worth of paint few bits and bob,s i may be £500 either way but i have been doing this a long time.

i may of over reacted but when i see people say things like £12 to £16k to repair its no wonder

that is light damage and would repair a treat

not going to argue about it

ok, so you want to save a few quid with second hand parts. You find me a secondhand good condition genuine BMW CSL front bumper for £500. I'd like one myself so please send me the details. If you can't find one phone BMW and ask them for a price on a replacement CSL front bumper... then tell me if your £500 either way is even close.

Also, if the rear quarter panel is in need of replacement that's not a small job is it? Correct me if I'm wrong as it's not my area of expertise but it's not like a front wing which is a bolt on replacement, I think it's a more involved process as it's one piece with the roof line?

Airbags?
Glass?
suspension?
etc..

Then after all this we are still stuck on the fact that there are undamaged cars trading at just under £20k now (sad to see as a CSL lover but true). Hence why I maintain that a circa £10k price is fair bid for a damaged car before repairs.

Maybe you have been doing this a long time, but either be more tactful or sort your numbers out before you flame someone....

Let's leave it at that.

As a CSL enthusiast, regardless of values & costs, I'm just very sad to hear about this. I wish the owner the very best of luck getting his pride and joy repaired and back out on the road where it should be.

I'm not sure if he is a member but it was a guy from Leeds, it was a standard car but with Brembos all round. I think his RTABs were shot as he was struggling a bit round Brands.
Its me and the rear left was well shot, BM sport sorted the problems the next day but its a shame I had to wait till after the track day. I was running slicks by the time I was back in Leeds
Tom thanks for the passenger lap that you sorted with Jags, all I can say is what a car it really showed me what a CSL can do

now I need some 888's or cups

on another note I have a vorsteiner front bumper for half of the £500 estimated if the guy who pranged his wants a quick fix

one for Tim... its Steve from the ring (EvoT)... hows it going ... and you need to get it round a track mate
