So on for buying petrol and to please the City of London police, and off for "shows"

Well I like it!
So I guess my idea works ok then, what type of magnets did you use?

I first saw the yanks doing it and thought it was a good idea:

I used these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Neodymium-Disc...item53e088a01d

Seem to work quite well.

Moved on to MkII today....

Fitted the standard plate holder with some magnets so that it looks completely OEM, but pops off when required. Much better

Sorry pics not great.

I Like! So you have 3x magnets glued to the inside of the bumper and the 3x to the plate holder shown? I have a vinyl plate under my OEM plate, which I keep forgetting. Gotta be at least 1kg saving!

I actually doubled them up to give me more strength now they are holding the weight of the plate holder and the plate on, so 12 magents in all. 6 on the inside of the bumper, 6 on the plate holder, then plate stuck on with double sided tape.
Works well

That looks like a great idea, I might this myself. Top advice Mole.

Only thing that might bother me is that fact that it can be removed so easily, thieving? I suppose like most here, car is never left anywhere for any length of time and you could always whip is off yourself and stick it in the boot!
